Car App
Installed on the DiLink head unit. Shows live vehicle data, provides local controls, tracks trips and charging, and runs voice commands and automations. This is the core of the system — everything else connects through it.
What is BYD EV Pro?
BYD EV Pro is a set of apps and optional hardware for BYD vehicles with DiLink head units. Together they give you a richer view of your vehicle, phone-based remote access, proximity auto-lock/unlock, and Home Assistant integration.
The system is made of four independent parts. Not all of them are required — you can start with just the Car App and add more later.
The four parts

A phone app (Android and iOS) that gives you remote access to your vehicle from anywhere. Requires an App-tier licence and internet on both the phone and the head unit.
T-Box
Optional hardware that installs in the vehicle. Adds proximity auto-lock/unlock, GPS tracking while the vehicle is off, and the ability to send commands when the head unit is asleep.
Home Assistant
A custom HACS integration. Receives live vehicle data from the Car App and creates sensors and a device tracker in Home Assistant.

What requires a license
Section titled “What requires a license”There are four tiers — Free, Ad-free, Web and App.
Free needs no licence at all. The entire in-car experience is included: live dashboard, climate and access controls, battery detail, trips and charging history, voice control, automations, cameras and Sentry. None of it expires, and none of it needs internet.
Ad-free is a one-off payment that never expires and unlocks nothing — it only stops the support message the Car App shows on unlicensed cars.
Paid tiers add reach off the car, plus extra display surfaces:
- Web — Home Assistant, Telegram, Cluster Mirror, Blind Spot, Info Widget
- App — everything in Web, plus the Companion App
The Companion App requires the App tier specifically — the Web tier does not include it.

Internet requirements
Section titled “Internet requirements”The Car App dashboard can show vehicle data without internet. Everything else requires internet on the head unit:
- License checks
- Companion App pairing and remote access
- Home Assistant webhook pushes
- Telegram notifications
- T-Box pairing and remote commands
If the head unit loses internet, the dashboard keeps working but connected features stop until connectivity returns.
