Companion App Features

The Companion App is the phone app for Android and iOS. It gives you your car from anywhere — live status, remote commands, a phone key, alarm alerts, location and camera access.

Up to two phones can be paired to one car. One phone can hold more than one paired car. To connect a phone, see Companion App pairing.

The T-Box is optional hardware fitted to the car. Three features need it — everything else on this page works without one:

FeatureNeeds T-Box
Phone key (approach unlock, walk-away lock)Yes
Alarm — motion, breach alerts, panicYes
Location while the car is switched offYes
Everything else belowNo

The main screen shows your car’s current state: charge level, range, doors, locks, windows, trunk, climate, tyre pressures and temperatures.

When the car is switched off, the app shows the last known values with the time they were recorded, so you can always tell how fresh the reading is. It never shows a stale number as if it were live.

Quick actions for lock, unlock, trunk and remote launch, plus a controls screen for doors, windows, trunk and climate.

Commands work whether the car is awake or asleep, and the app confirms from the car itself rather than from the fact a message was sent — so a success means the car acted.

You can require a fingerprint, face or device passcode before any sensitive command — lock, unlock, trunk, remote launch and alarm. Enable it under Settings → Security.

Automatic unlock as you approach the car and lock as you walk away, using a direct Bluetooth link between your phone and the T-Box. Because the link is direct, it works with no internet on either the phone or the car.

The Phone Key tab shows the live status — Ready, Connecting, Off or Unavailable — so you can tell at a glance whether the key is armed.

Motion detection and breach alerts while the car is parked, with a panic function. Alerts arrive as push notifications with the time the event happened.

Where the car is, including while it is switched off, from the T-Box’s own GPS.

Live camera streaming from the car to your phone, plus Sentry guard mode and playback of recorded clips.

Completed trips synced from the car — distance, energy, efficiency and duration — with trip meters you can reset from the phone.

Create and edit the car’s automation rules from your phone, and run any of them on demand. A rule has a trigger (a time of day, the car starting, a reading crossing a value, or the car coming online), an optional condition, and an action.

Push notifications you can turn on individually:

  • Charging started, charging finished, charging target reached
  • Trip completed
  • Sentry events
  • Security alarm, with its own sound and vibration setting
  • Low tyre pressure, with a pressure threshold you choose

A widget for your phone’s home screen showing charge and range, with quick actions. You can choose which range figure it displays — the car’s own, the current cycle, or the projected value.

Invite a second phone by generating a share code from your app — the invited phone scans it and gets access without touching the car. Remember the two-phone limit per car.

The system is built so that a switched-off car does not mean a dead app:

  • The T-Box stays awake, so phone key, alarm and location keep working.
  • Commands you send while the car sleeps are queued and delivered.
  • Status shows last-known values with timestamps rather than going blank.

The app holds a signed licence verdict, so it behaves predictably offline:

  • A brief loss of connectivity changes nothing.
  • If the licence expires, remote commands and the phone key stop.
  • On the Web tier — which does not include the Companion App — commands and the phone key do not work.
  • A third phone beyond the two-phone limit is not granted access.

The app tells you which of these applies rather than failing silently.
